Money taken from your bank account in Singapore: what to do now

Start at the top. Do the first step first. Take your time.

Stop it getting worse

Now, in the next few minutes

  1. Call your bank now and ask them to freeze your account and cards.

Say: "I have been scammed. Please freeze my account and stop any payments."

Have ready: Your account or card number, the amount, and when it happened.

Call the number on the back of your card.

Try to get your money back

Today

  1. Ask your bank to trace and recall the transfers you did not make, and give you a case number.

Have ready: The date, time and amount of each transfer.

Call the number on the back of your card.

  2. Anyone offering to get your money back for a fee is a scammer.

Report it

Today or this week

  1. Report it to the police, online or at a police centre. Banks often ask for the report number.

Have ready: Your evidence: dates, amounts, account numbers, usernames and screenshots.
